Terms of Use
DashRoute · effective 27 October 2026
These terms apply to DashRoute for iPhone, its widgets and its Apple Watch app (“the app”), made by Emrecan Öztürk, an independent developer in Istanbul, Türkiye (“we”). The app is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms add what is specific to DashRoute; if the two conflict about your license to use the app, the Standard EULA wins. By downloading or using the app you agree to both.
Safety comes first
- Set DashRoute up before you start driving. Never hold, look at or tap the phone while the vehicle is moving.
- Mount the phone securely in a holder that does not block your view, the airbags or any controls, and follow local rules on windshield mounts.
- DashRoute is not an emergency service. “Possible crash” detection only protects the recording; it does not call for help.
- The speed shown comes from GPS and can differ from your speedometer. Always follow road signs and your vehicle’s instruments.
Recording and the law
Rules on recording video and sound in vehicles and in public, and on publishing footage, differ by country and region. You are responsible for following them: for example, telling passengers when the cabin camera or microphone is on, and blurring faces or license plates before you publish a clip. Use DashRoute only for lawful purposes and never to secretly watch or follow other people.
What we can and cannot promise
DashRoute depends on your iPhone, iOS, free storage, temperature, battery and the permissions you grant. iOS lets the app record only while it is on screen; a call or another app pauses recording. Event detection uses the phone’s motion sensors and can miss real events or flag harmless ones. We cannot guarantee that a recording exists for a particular moment, or that an insurer, the police or a court will accept your footage as evidence. Export or back up clips that matter to you: videos, routes and events are stored only on your device and are deleted if you delete the app.
DashRoute Pro
- Pro is sold through the App Store as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase that never renews. Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you buy.
- The yearly plan may include a free trial for eligible new subscribers. The trial length and the price after it are shown before you subscribe. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the unused part of the trial ends.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store account settings (iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- The lifetime purchase can be shared with your Family Sharing group. Subscriptions are not shared.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Use Restore Purchases in the app to get Pro back on a new device signed in with the same Apple Account.
Your recordings
Your videos, routes, events, clips and reports belong to you. We do not receive them, and they leave your iPhone only when you share them yourself. The usage statistics and purchase records the app does collect are explained in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to the app
We may add, change or remove features, and update these terms. When we change them, the new version is published at this address with a new date. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the app is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for accidents, traffic fines, insurance outcomes, lost recordings or other indirect damage arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection that applies where you live.
